Fordham has strong showing for Omaha trip to Warren Buffett

Smart Woman Securities Student Organizations & Clubs | Apr 25, 2012 |

Nationwide, only 20 student members of Smart Woman Securities had the privilege of traveling to meet star investor Warren Buffett as part of the organization’s annual trip to Omaha — and three of those 20 spots were claimed by Fordham.

“Given that there are 14 chapters of SWS, this number is quite remarkable,” said Farzana Ali (GSB ’15), who journeyed to Nebraska with Bisera Todorovic (GSB ’13) and Claire Smith (GSB ’12). The full group is pictured at right.

The trip included visits to corporate offices such as TDAmeritrade, networking lunches and dinners, excursions to local businesses, and the all-important question-and-answer session with Mr. Buffett. Students got to work cooperatively with students from other universities’ SWS chapters on company presentations that were delivered to Berkshire Hathaway executives.

Thank you to Claire, Bisera and Farzana for representing Fordham and the Gabelli School of Business at this year’s SWS conference.
