We all read about it in high school.
Gabelli School of Business students in London have actually visited it.
It’s the Globe Theatre, the round playhouse on the banks of the Thames where so many of William Shakespeare‘s most famous plays found their London audiences. April Sauer (GSB ’14) writes:
“Last week, the Invitation to Theatre class went to Shakespeare’s Globe to see The Taming of the Shrew. We had to arrive early because our tickets were for the standing area. We were called the “groundlings,” which meant that for the entire show, we all had to stand around and got to interact with the actors. The play lasted around three hours, so by the end, our feet were hurting, but the show was hilarious and everyone loved the Shakespearean humor.”
