First-place honors for Fordham Marketing Association

Coursework , Marketing , Marketing Association Stories | Apr 12, 2011 |

At the American Marketing Association’s collegiate conference in New Orleans, seven members of the Fordham Marketing Association received a first-place award for their ability to creatively incorporate the conference’s theme into an exhibition booth.

More than 1,300 marketing students from 140 colleges and universities attended the conference, which offers educational opportunities, career-development seminars, on-site networking and more. It features a competition, too — marketing teams face off in creating exhibition booths that professional marketers judge in three categories: which is the most educational, which best conveys the club’s activities, and which best interprets the conference’s theme. This year’s theme was “Get in the Game: Marketing to the Wii Generation,” referring to Nintendo’s popular Wii video game console.

The Gabelli students went after the third prize category. Their efforts brought them top honors. Congratulations! Below is a photograph of the students with their first-prize plaque: Christine Campbell, Paul Curmi, Brett Johnson, Travis Marmara, Luke Power, Jennifer Schwartz, and Caitlin Zwick.
