The editorial board of a major academic journal, Marketing Education Review, has chosen Professor Hooman Estelami‘s paper as its “Best Article of the Year” for 2012. This is a significant achievement, and the Schools of Business are very proud of Professor Estelami’s research.

The title of the paper is a long one — “An Exploratory Study of the Drivers of Student Satisfaction and Learning Experience in Hybrid-Online and Pure-Online Marketing Courses” — but what you need to know is that Professor Estelami has become Fordham’s in-house expert on ways to offer courses online and in other innovative formats using technology.

Known in the academic sphere as “distance learning” or “blended learning,” this is a huge area of investigation as colleges and universities worldwide try to figure out what education might look like in the future. Professor Estelami is a national leader in that conversation. He and colleagues in Fordham’s marketing department have offered two workshops and one conference that allowed educators from all over the country to come to Fordham to learn techniques and strategies they can actually use.

Last year, Dean Rapaccioli named Professor Estelami director of blended learning at Fordham. Achievements like the honor from the Marketing Education Review make it even more clear why he was such a great choice. Congratulations on your “Best of the Year” award, Professor Estelami!
