It’s not your typical study-abroad program.

Fordham University Gabelli School of Business students seeking to learn about a different culture and make a difference at the same time are being given another opportunity to spend a semester in South Africa as part of Fordham’s Ubuntu Program.

Based in Pretoria, one of South Africa’s capital cities, the program offers not only coursework at the University of Pretoria, it also gives opportunities for service in the developing nation. Students will also be able to experience the natural wonders of South Africa, as well as its cities and culture.

Study will include courses in the history of and socio-economic issues in South Africa, as well as electives in everything from social work to international relations. The semester begins on Jan. 23, 2015, and lasts until June 26, 2015.

The Ubuntu Program is open to undergraduates in every major at Fordham University. The application deadline is Oct. 15. For more information, email ISAP@fordham.edu or schedule an appointment online for Rose Hill or Lincoln Center.
