Tax season is upon us.
If this statement spurred vague visions of W-2s, Form 1040s, and withholding, you’re not alone. But there’s more to taxes—and the tax industry—than what many people know from filing forms each year.
On Thursday, February 16, Phillip J. Cioffi, national leader of KPMG’s mergers and acquisitions tax practice, will join the Gabelli School of Business for a presentation on his role as a tax advisor.
Cioffi will discuss how he plays a part in the tax aspects of acquisitions, dispositions, and restructurings. As a lead in the M&A area of a Big Four firm, he’ll also help students broaden their knowledge about potential career paths.
Open to all students in collaboration with the Fordham chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, this discussion will clear up some of the mystery surrounding the tax industry and answer the question, “Why tax?”
