Tier 1 MBA RankingsFordham University’s graduate business programs have once again been recognized as some of the best in both North America and the world.

CEO Magazine has ranked the graduate business school’s MBA program in its “Tier 1” for North American universities. Fordham’s EMBA program was placed in “Tier 1” for the magazine’s global rankings. The rankings are included in the magazine’s winter edition.

The magazine has consistently ranked the university’s EMBA program in its top tier since 2010, but the MBA program is now gaining recognition, too, said Francis Petit, the associate dean for academic programs, Lincoln Center for the Gabelli School of Business and the graduate school of business.

“This is only the second time the MBA has been ranked by CEO Magazine, and it’s never been ranked in this top-25 category,” Petit said. “So they are consistently recognizing the EMBA, but the great news is now they’re recognizing the MBA.”

The rankings are put together “based upon key performance indicators considered to be of interest and value to potential students,” according to the magazine. Diversity, class sizes and faculty qualifications, for example, are all taken into consideration.

Prospective and current students take rankings seriously, said Petit.

“And, certainly, being recognized by organizations allows us to continue the momentum of what we’re trying to do in building the Fordham MBA and executive MBA brands,” Petit said.
