Fordham’s business schools receive reaccreditation from AACSB

Announcements | Apr 08, 2014 |

fordham 102907 1415-2The accrediting organization for business schools — the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business — reviewed Fordham’s progress in business education and voted in March to extend its accreditation for an additional five years.

This review covered both the undergraduate and graduate business schools.

AACSB accreditation, a rigorous and comprehensive peer review process, represents the highest global standard of achievement for business schools. Fordham’s undergraduate business school has held AACSB accreditation since 1920; the graduate school has been accredited since its opening in 1969.

The review team submitted a 14-page report that highlighted Fordham’s strengths in business education and offered ideas on new improvements that its leadership can pursue before the next regular assessment.

Fordham received compliments from the reviewers on:

  • Student career outcomes at the undergraduate level
  • The 11 business faculty research centers that connect Fordham to the global academic community and to the professional community in New York City
  • Undergraduate and graduate student involvement in faculty research
  • Incorporation of faculty research into classroom teaching
  • A “clear culture of personal care for the students,” exemplifying the Jesuit principle of cura personalis

The next AACSB review will take place in 2019.
