Jan. 16: Free passes to NYC social entrepreneurship conference

Social entrepreneurship is a big deal in New York City.
One conference is setting out to bring the city’s social innovation scene together.
It’s being held this coming Thursday, January 16. And it’s at Fordham.
A limited number of free student passes are available to MakeImpactNYC, which will feature speakers from some very up-and-coming social enterprises, including a keynote from Katie Hunt-Morr of Etsy. Here are the details:

Location: Pope Auditorium, Lowenstein Building, Lincoln Center

The goal of the conference is to “celebrate New York City’s social entrepreneurship achievements, explore the city’s pressing issues and build collaboration and community across all five boroughs.” This is a great opportunity to network and make connections, if you’re interested in startups with a mission to improve society.
The last two and a half hours — from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. — will be a pitch competition called the “Battle of the Boros.” Students who attend will get to see five local entrepreneur finalists pitch to a panel of judges. Who’ll win the top spot?
