True or false: Smart Woman Securities seminars are for female students only.

False.

A few intrepid Gabelli School “sons of Fordham” joined their female counterparts last week at the first seminar in SWS’s spring series. That allowed them to meet and network with human resources reps from PwC, Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan, who told the group about working in HR for financial firms.

“One HR panelist reinforced the idea that SWS is not only for women, but that men are welcome to join, too!” recalled Emily Harman (GSB ’14), the group’s marketing chair. “He pointed at two male audience members and said, ‘You two are the smartest men at Fordham — not only because you’re surrounded by 40 women, but also because you stand out and make an impression to the guest speakers.”

So, guys and girls alike should consider attending the next SWS seminar, slated for tomorrow evening:

Sales and trading professionals from J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs will speak about their careers. New SWS members are welcome to join the group by starting to attend events like these!
