Save the date: AMEX chief marketing officer to visit

Entrepreneurship Marketing | Mar 22, 2011 |

The Gabelli School of Business will welcome John Hayes, chief marketing officer of American Express, to campus on March 30 at 4 p.m. Students who wish to attend may register here.

Mr. Hayes has led American Express’s global marketing efforts for 16 years, helping to shape both the company and its brand. His influence is behind some of the company’s most memorable campaigns, such as “My life, my card,” and cutting-edge marketing programs such as the Members Project, which encouraged American Express members to make a difference in the world.

During Mr. Hayes’s tenure, American Express has launched more than 200 new products, including the Centurion black card, American Express Blue, and, more recently, ZYNC. He is responsible for ensuring that the company keeps pace with its consumers as their lives and needs change, a task that he believes requires constant innovation, a commitment to two-way communication, and a steadfast belief in leadership that drives change.
