Apply by February 17 for a seat at the Alumni/Student Supper Club and a chance to meet Tim Smollen (GSB ’84), managing gabelli-supper-club-1director and global head of Deutsche Bank’s Agency Securities Lending Business, and Teresa Heitsenrether (GSB ’87), managing director and global head of J.P. Morgan Investment Service’s Prime Brokerage.

Alumni/Student Supper Clubs provide an excellent opportunity for a small group of students to meet successful Fordham alumni, get an inside view of specific industries, receive career advice and make valuable contacts with experienced professionals within the Fordham business community.

As managing director and global head of Deutsche Bank’s Agency Securities Lending (ASL) business and regional head in the Americas of Direct Securities Services, Mr. Smollen and his team of 55 + joined Deutsche Bank in 2009 following the bank’s purchase of Dresdner/Commerzbank where he had served as global head of the business in New York.

For 14 years, Mr. Smollen was based in London where he helped to build Dresdner’s Agency Lending business. Prior to that, he led marketing and client management for the securities lending groups at Deutsche Bank in London and earlier, at Chase Manhattan Bank where he was instrumental in developing Chase’s international capabilities. Tim managed the integration of Chase and Chemical banks’ programs and the integration of the business from Morgan Stanley Trust Company in the 1990s. He began his career in securities lending at Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. of New York, and earned a bachelor’s degree at Fordham University.

Ms. Heitsenrether is a managing director and global head of Prime Brokerage. She is responsible for delivering financing, clearing, safekeeping, capital introduction and consulting services and for driving the strategy and growing business with hedge funds globally.

Ms. Heitsenrether previously held several leadership positions in the Prime Services business. She returned to New York in 2012 following an international assignment in London as head of Prime Brokerage in EMEA coinciding with the launch of J.P. Morgan’s European Prime Brokerage business the prior year. Before moving to London, she was global head of product development for J.P. Morgan’s Prime Brokerage business. As global co-head of J.P. Morgan’s Fixed Income Prime Brokerage, Ms. Heitsenrether provided credit intermediation and financing of fixed-income securities, foreign exchange, credit derivatives and interest-rate derivatives to hedge funds.

In 2013, Ms. Heitsenrether was appointed to the board of directors of the Managed Funds Association and was recognized as one of the 50 leading women in hedge funds by the Financial Journal. She is the chairwoman and CEO of J.P. Morgan Clearing Corp., a U.S. broker-dealer that provides clearance, safekeeping and financing of customer assets. She earned an M.B.A. at New York University’s Stern School of Business and a bachelor’s degree at Fordham University.
