Reducing risk is Ali Rizvi’s mission in his new position as an advisory consultant in Deloitte’s AERS advisory department.
Ali, who graduated in December 2013, said the position matches perfectly with his interest in finance and technology. “We work closely with high level officials to control and reduce risk,” he explained, adding that the fields of finance and technology are rapidly changing, which will no doubt keep his work life interesting.
Before accepting Deloitte’s offer, Ali interned in the wealth management division at UBS. He said the experience gave him a better understanding of corporate culture and day-to-day operations at a large organization.
Ali added his new position to a résumé that already includes experience as a research analyst and a member of the support team for New York State Senator David Carlucci, as well as an earlier appointment to the board of trustees at SUNY Rockland Community College. Fluent in Urdu, Ali is an Eagle Scout and a “huge sports fan.”
Congratulations, Ali, and best of luck as you begin your career in risk management!
