On your birthday, you have a birthday cake.
At your wedding, you have a wedding cake.
On the occasion of your send-off to Fordham University as a new freshman, you have a Ram cake.
Groups of incoming Class of 2016 students in cities and towns across the United States are gathering for Fordham send-off events, often organized by generous and hospitable alumni in their home regions. Six students from the Orange County area recently got together at the home of Frank (GSB ’77) and Janan Pisano to get to know one another, play a little lawn bowling and enjoy a slice of Ram cake.
Send-off parties also were held in 17 other locations this year: Los Angeles, Palo Alto, San Diego, and San Francisco, California; Stamford, Connecticut; Chicago; Miami, Florida; Boston; New Orleans; Fair Haven and Paramus, New Jersey; Albany, Garrison, and Long Island, New York; Philadelphia; Houston, Texas; and Washington, D.C..
Below are pictures from the Orange County event. Do you have pictures from other Fordham send-off parties? E-mail them to gsbdean@fordham.edu, and we’ll add them to this post!
You are also more than welcome to send us any leftover Ram-themed desserts.
We at the Gabelli School of Business are excited to see our Class of 2016 on campus in just a couple of weeks. Congratulations again on joining the Fordham family!
