International Business Week 2023 Lineup

This year’s lineup for International Business Week (IBW) was just announced, featuring two exciting virtual sessions that focus on different aspects of global business.

The theme for this year is “Responsible International Business Practices.” All week long, the Hughes Hall Lobby will be decorated with Flags representing multiple countries across the globe!

Macadamias, Responsible Leadership and Sustainability in Brazil: A Family’s Tradition of Evolving for Excellence

Monday, March 27
6:30 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. ET

This International Business Week session will feature entrepreneurs Remy Picard, MBA, and Ricardo Picard, who will discuss their successful Macadamia Nut Farm Family Business and their innovation when it comes to Responsible Business Practices. The session will also include a virtual tour of the farm and the facility located in Brazil.

Remy and Ricardo Picard will be joined in conversation with Session Chair Ms. Hanaa Fawzy, Assistant Dean for Global Initiatives and Partnerships.

UN Headquarters Group Visit and Guided Tour

Wednesday, March 29
12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. ET

This International Business Week session will feature an immersion and guided tour of the United Nations Headquarters in Midtown Manhattan. (Official Headquarters since 1951). The complex consists of the Secretariat, Conference and the General Assembly.

The event will be led by Mr. William Smith (Gabelli 2023), President, International Business Association and Ms. Hanaa Fawzy, Assistant Dean for Global Initiatives and Partnerships.

International Business Careers A Personal and Professional Journey, Challenges and Opportunities of a Global Business Career at EY

This International Business Week session will feature Mr. Daniel Black, Global Lead, Talent Attraction & Acquisition, Ernst & Young, and will focus on International Business Careers and its intersection with Responsible Business. This event is co-sponsored with the ILCGB (Integrated Learning Community for Global Business)

Mr. Black will be joined in conversation with Session Chairs Mr. Steve Najdzionek, Assistant Dean for Transfers and Ms. Hanaa Fawzy, Assistant Dean for Global Initiatives and Partnerships.

Introduction to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)

This International Business Week Session will feature Mr. Ferda Gelegen, Deputy Head of UNIDO in Tokyo discussing its mandate and initiatives in promoting and accelerating Sustainable Industrial Development Globally.

Mr. Gelegen will be joined in conversation with Session Chair Francis Petit, Ed.D., Associate Dean for Global Initiatives and Partnerships.
