The opportunities and challenges of technology innovation and economic development will be the topic of an Oct. 15 roundtable discussion held by Fordham University’s Center for Digital Transformation.

The third annual summit, held on Fordham’s Rose Hill campus, will feature a number of stakeholders in the economic development of the Bronx, including faculty, students, company executives, nonprofit agencies and government officials. Three main topics will be discussed by the roundtable:

  • The opportunities for tech growth and development.
  • The challenges of growth, including bandwidth, connectivity and the knowledge and skills development in the community.
  • The role the Bronx Technology Innovation Coalition can play in promoting a tech development in the Bronx.

The summit, according to a CDT notice, is an “essential event to those interested in the transformation of the Bronx into a viable borough of sustainable, technology-driven business activities and economic growth.”

The CDT, under founding director RP Raghupathi, seeks to provide “intellectual leadership by organizing and managing a collaborative community of scholars, executives, society leaders and students deeply committed to the role of digital technologies in transforming business and society.”

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014
Time: 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Location: Daleo Hall (lower level of Hughes Hall)
