The Smart Woman Securities group has initiated 40 new members, the culmination of a semester-long series of lectures, learning and networking.

The 40 women officially joined during a November new member initiation and mentor appreciation dinner, during which a new national sponsor, BNY Mellon, was announced.

Jean Wynn, chief administrative officer for the president of BNY Mellon, and Monique Herena, BNY Mellon’s new head of human resources, both spoke at the dinner about the value of networking. They were introduced by Donna Rapaccioli, dean of Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.

Others attending were the speakers from the semester’s seminar series, leaders of the Fordham Alternative Investment Club and Finance Society, Gabelli School faculty, alumni and other supporters.

BNY Mellon joins JP Morgan as a sponsor of the national organization of SWS, with both offering mentors, internship and job opportunities and networking to those who participate in the club across many U.S. campuses.
