BlackRock MD to discuss fixed income markets on Feb. 3

Fordham University’s graduate and undergraduate business students will have an opportunity to hear one of the top investment officers in the country discuss fixed income markets during a presentation on Feb. 3.

Rick Rieder, the managing director and chief investment officer of fundamental fixed income for BlackRock, will talk from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the university’s E. Gerald Corrigan Conference Center at the Lowenstein Building on the Lincoln Center campus. Admission is **free** for students, $25 for alumni and $30 for non-alumni. Refreshments will be provided before and after the event. Business attire is required.

Rieder has had a long career in finance, having worked at Lehman Brothers, SunTrust Banks, R3 Capital Partners and BlackRock. He is also a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Investment Advisory Committee on Finance Markets, and he served as vice chairman of the Borrowing Committee for the U.S. Treasury.

He has also lent his experience to a number of other ventures, including North Star Academy’s charter schools in Newark, N.J., the U.S. Olympic Committee and the Hospital for Special Surgery.

The event is sponsored by the Fordham Wall Street Council, which was formed in 2010 to foster collaboration among business faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the university interested in capital markets.
