A Fordham alumnus who is a past president, CEO and chairman of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance will offer his “Keys to Greatness in Your First Job … and Your Last.”

Come by to discover what this experienced executive, Robert O’Connell (FCRH ’65), calls the “universal business strategies for success.”

Robert O’Connell is the former president, CEO and chairman of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance.

He began his career as an assistant professor of economic history at Fairfield University in 1968, after completing an MA in European economics at the University of Pennsylvania. He moved out of academia and into the insurance business when he joined the New York Insurance Co. in 1970. He was vice president of that company from 1983 to 1986 and senior vice president from 1986 to 1989.

From 1989 to 1991, Mr. O’Connell served as senior vice president of the group management division at American International Group (AIG). He later was CEO of AIG Life Insurance Cos. and served on the board of AIG Life.
