Speakers to discuss ‘Cuba in Transition’ on Sept. 16

A Sept. 16 panel will discuss “Cuba in Transition.”

The opportunities presented by the opening of Cuba to foreign investors and some local entrepreneurial efforts will be the subject of an event held on Fordham University’s Lincoln Center campus on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The event, organized by Marcia Flicker, an associate professor of marketing at the Gabelli School of Business, features three speakers, each with a unique perspective on the recent normalization of relations between the Cuba and the United States.

  • Michel Villand, a French entrepreneur who recently published the story of his successful 10-year joint venture with the Cuban government
  • Alvaro Sainz Ortiz, MBA ’16, who explored opportunities for a global music company and discovered the special challenges facing American firms
  • Andres Levin, a Grammy-winning music producer and musician who co-founded Yerba Buena and the organization Music Has No Enemies

The event will be held in McMahon Hall. It will begin at 5:50 p.m. and will run approximately two hours.
