Accounting standards to be focus of April 1 talk at Baruch

Two men who have significant experience with accounting standards will discuss the past, present and future of those standards during a presentation at Baruch College on April 1.
Sir David Tweedie, who headed the International Accounting Standards Board between 2001 and 2011, and Robert Herz, who chaired the Financial Accounting Standards Board between 2002 and 2010, will talk about their experiences.
Specifically, Tweedie and Herz will talk about their efforts to converge the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the International Financial Reporting Standards during their tenures.
The two leaders will also discuss what is next for accounting standards for global capital markets.
