Isabelle Wildgen (GSB ’12) has been accepted to the master’s degree program in strategy and management of international business at the Grand École ESSEC in Paris and will continue her studies there after graduating from Gabelli in May. Congratulations, Isabelle!
The one-year ESSEC program covers a broad range of areas, including finance, marketing, leadership and management. Isabelle will spend the first six months in Paris and the second six months anywhere in the world she desires, doing an internship on which she’ll base her master’s thesis. The program also includes a study tour to Asia and a job-placement program with a sky-high success rate: 98 percent of graduates receive a full-time offer within six months of graduation.
Studying in Paris will represent a return to Europe for Isabelle, who was born and raised in Luxembourg. One of the primary reasons she chose Fordham for her undergraduate education was its range of study-abroad options, and she has taken full advantage of those. While at Gabelli, she spent one semester in London and another in Beijing, in addition to traveling on the summer 2011 study tour to India. She earned the G.L.O.B.E. international specialization in addition to her major in business administration and dual concentrations in entrepreneurship and finance.
Isabelle, who eventually plans to establish her own firm in international relations and trade, places the highest value on her international experiences and encourages her fellow Gabelli students to do the same.
“Don’t be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone!” she said. “I left home at the age of 19 to discover the American college life, studied in London, Beijing and visited India over the past few years, ending up loving every second of it.” We wish Isabelle all the happiness in her future that she has found here at Fordham.
