Interested in the Fair Trade and Microfinance course?

Not sure, but maybe?

It’s worth it to find out. On May 1, Professor Kate Combellick invites all Gabelli School students to sit in on a session of the course to see what it’s like. Several current students will make presentations about the class, and they’ll hang around afterward to chat and network with anyone who might want to follow in their footsteps.

You don’t have to sign up in advance — just show up.

Wednesday, May 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. in FMH 321.

If you have any questions, e-mail Professor Combellick.

The course description is as follows:

FAIR TRADE AND MICROFINANCE — CPBU 4001
This course blends academic learning with Fair Trade’s capacity to take action against economic injustice in solidarity with the poor. Students in this course run an actual Fair Trade business, Amani, from the Rose Hill campus. They and the instructor will work in partnership with a team of business school students in India to locate new Fair Trade businesses in that country, and will travel to visit those businesses during a school break.
