Business analytics is in great demand as the world economy experiences tumultuous change — and the Gabelli School of Business wants to make sure its students are well-positioned to master it. This event taps the power of the school’s partnership with IBM to help students conceive of innovative solutions to problems facing commerce and society in coming years. Faculty, students, and outside business leaders are invited to the Flom Auditorium from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011, for this forum, which will feature:
- A keynote speech from Dr. Colin Harrison, the inventor of IBM’s Smarter Cities technical architecture.
- Presentations from Fordham professors who are designing interdisciplinary courses and real-world projects designed to teach analytics.
- A panel discussion aimed to identify ways in which Fordham faculty and students, business and government leaders, and IBM representatives can collaborate on analytics projects and education.
