Tomorrow: Hear Nobel Laureate M. Yunus speak in Queens

Gabelli School students and Fordham business faculty are invited, through a Fordham connection, to hear Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus deliver a lecture at LaGuardia Community College.
Mr. Yunus is a pioneer of microcredit and social entrepreneur whose mission and career accomplishments are reflective of Fordham’s values and of the Jesuit principle of cura personalis.

Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Farzana will be a presenter tomorrow evening as well, speaking on the topic of Mr. Yunus’s vision for the future. The event has been organized by the Bengali committee to celebrate Mr. Yunus receiving the Congressional Gold Medal.
For his work, which includes providing small but valuable loans to help people in under-resourced nations build businesses, Mr. Yunus has earned the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Forbes 400 Lifetime Achievement Award for Social Entrepreneurship and the Congressional Gold Medal.
He has been lauded for his influence on reducing poverty, especially in his native Bangladesh, and for advancing the lives of women in rural areas in particular.
