Success story: Joshua Kim hired by GE Capital

Areas of Study , Finance Success Stories | Oct 14, 2011 |

After working for GE Capital in a summer internship, Joshua Kim (GSB ’12) has been offered a post-graduation position as a full-time risk management associate. The company’s headquarters is in Stamford, Connecticut.

Josh, a finance major with a concentration in economics and a minor in philosophy, worked in summer 2011 as an intern in the company’s Aviation Services division; his managers then asked him to continue his work during the school year. GE will notify Josh sometime in the spring whether he will remain with Aviation Services after graduation or move into a different segment of the company.

In GE’s Aviation Services business, Josh has worked primarily with the Risk Analytics & Valuations team. He helped to create a new model to value a specific asset — in this particular case, an aircraft — by looking at the cash flows, costs, economic cycle, inflation, fuel price and other macro-level variables that influence values.

Congrats, Josh! We at Gabelli wish you every success in your full-time role at GE.
