May 2 speaker event: Lehman alum discusses 2008 and beyond

Professor Mikael Nabati would like you to visit his class on May 2:

Kevin Genirs, the global general counsel of investment banking at Barclays Capital — and a 16-year veteran of Lehman Brothers — will be the Secured Credit class’s guest speaker.

Professor Nabati has invited him to talk about the lessons he learned from the biggest bankruptcy in U.S. history, and about the impact it has had on today’s financial world.

Mr. Genirs will give a presentation titled “2008 vs. 2011: Lessons from a Lehman Insider.” This behind-the-scenes history of the final days of Lehman will segue into a look at the challenges currently facing the finance industry and the global economy.

Mr. Genirs has spoken at several universities around the country, including Georgetown, Duke and Columbia.
