Fordham alumni and recruiters who work in interesting capacities across the finance spectrum will talk about their jobs and give you pointers on how to get started in their niches:
- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which is hiring interns and full-time staff! Bureau representative David Uejio will discuss his initiative to protect consumers from predatory lending. He’ll also talk about the bureau’s role in safeguarding Americans in the markets for consumer financial products and services, and how you can be a part of it.
- Insuring companies against perils like employee dishonesty, kidnap and ransom, forgery and computer fraud. Two alumni from the Great American Insurance Corporation will explain how you can use your finance education to protect businesses from casinos to school districts.
- Renewable-energy credits, carbon credits, and the hydroelectric and solar markets with Marex Spectron, the world’s largest privately owned broker of financial products in the commodities sector.
- Careers in insurance, wealth management and retirement planning. A Fordham alumnus who is a vice president of wealth management at Penn Mutual will give you an overview of opportunities within his company.
Come to this event prepared to meet people who can broaden your conception of jobs in finance and give you new ideas on job leads to pursue immediately. We hope to see you there!
