New alumni networking program: The Morning Meeting

Areas of Study , Featured Events Finance | Apr 13, 2012 |

We are proud to introduce a new event series geared toward putting Gabelli students in contact with Gabelli alumni in approachable, small-scale settings.

Welcome to the Morning Meeting.

We understand that making personal connections with alumni at a big, crowded event can be a challenge. This new program solves that problem.

At each installment of the Morning Meeting, up to 15 students will be selected to meet in a small group with John McGinley (GSB ’94), the Executive Director and Global Head of Portfolio Management at JPMorgan Chase. The Morning Meeting is specifically geared toward students who are interested in finance. Each meeting will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in Mr. McGinley’s office in Manhattan.

How does it work? It’s very similar to the Alumni/Student Supper Club, for those of you who are familiar with that program:

  • Students are given the opportunity to apply for selection to the Morning Meeting program.
  • Lisa Henkoff, pre-professional adviser for finance, will review applications and select a group of students to meet with Mr. McGinley.
  • Students who are selected for each Morning Meeting will be notified by e-mail with details about the date, time and meeting location. A different group of students will be selected for each gathering.

Note: The first Morning Meeting will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012. Students must apply by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, to be considered for this one. The program will run for the remainder of this semester and then begin again in fall 2012.
