Success story: Robert O’Reilly accepts Deloitte internship

Accounting , Areas of Study Success Stories | Feb 20, 2012 |

This summer, Robert O’Reilly (GSB ’13) will claim his place in the Big Four with an internship at Deloitte. As an audit intern, he will help Deloitte accountants to analyze and report financial statements for a wide range of clients, from large corporations to nonprofits to family foundations.

Robert feels well-prepared for the internship by the Gabelli curriculum, especially by a few courses in particular that he completed toward his accounting major: Intermediate Accounting I with Professor John Shon, Intermediate Accounting II with Professor Farley, and Hedge Funds with Kevin Mirabile. By the time he graduates, Robert will have a minor in economics as well.

Robert is getting on-the-ground tax-season experience this semester at the mid-size accounting firm O’Connor, Davies, Munns & Dobbins LLP, and when his term there wraps up, he looks forward to working in Deloitte’s offices on Wall Street. We at the Gabelli School of Business wish him luck this coming summer!
