Success story: Anthony Perrone hired as KPMG intern

Accounting , Areas of Study Success Stories | Mar 07, 2013 |

For Anthony Perrone (GSB ’13), audit is the place to be. As someone who gets along well with people, he likes being able to interact every day with clients from different industries. He appreciates the holistic view an auditor gets of a company, and the fact that auditors’ work benefits investors who rely on their assessments and opinions.

That makes it all the sweeter that Anthony has landed an internship in KPMG’s audit practice for summer 2013. He’ll be working in the Long Island office.

Likely very proud of Anthony is his father, who is a partner in his own CPA firm and who provided the inspiration for Anthony to pursue accounting. Anthony’s professors at the Gabelli School of Business and Fordham’s Graduate School of Business Administration are proud, too.

Why the Graduate School of Business Administration? Because Anthony is among the seniors selected for the dual-degree programs, which look for students with a strong commitment and serious work ethic. He will earn both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in five years and is already taking the Financial Statement Analysis course at GBA toward what will eventually be his MS in taxation.

“A master’s degree sets you apart from others and will allow me to move up the corporate ladder faster,” Anthony pointed out.

Anthony believes his Gabelli School education already has set him on the path toward a rapid rise.

“Many of the professors here have worked in the Big Four and know what firms are looking for in a student, and are always willing to help out wherever they can,” Anthony said. “All the major firms recruit on campus and are constantly hosting special events for students, which makes it very easy to find the place that fits you best, and for you to get on a recruiter’s radar.”

We’re glad that KPMG is a fit for Anthony and wish him great success this summer!
