Each year, Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business holds International Business Week (IBW), a five-day series of lectures panels and site visits that explore the topic of global business.
The theme of IBW 2026 is Global Business Leadership: Markets, Diplomacy, and Sustainable Growth and it will feature four exciting sessions and two site visits that will focus on diverse aspects of global business. Speakers and panelists from across five continents will share their insights with our students.
Each day of the week (Monday, April 13 – Friday, April 17), Gabelli School students will have the opportunity to learn about international business, sustainability, economics, politics, and culture. To amplify the international focus of the programming, the lobby of Hughes Hall on the Rose Hill campus, will be decorated with flags representing countries around the world.

Orla Lenihan, PhD, assistant professor in corporate governance and MBA director at the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics, University of Galway, will provide the Welcoming Remarks for Gabelli’s International Business Week.
The University of Galway is a longstanding academic partner of Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business.

Doing Business in India

This International Business Week session will feature Ambassador Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, consul general of India, New York. It will focus on insights, trends and best practices for successfully doing business in India.
Ambassador Binaya Srikanta Pradhan is a career diplomat of the 2002 batch of the Indian Foreign Service. He speaks English, Russian, Hindi, and Odiya languages. His diplomatic career includes senior roles in Indian embassies in Moscow, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan from
2004–2012.
Ambassador Binaya Srikanta Pradhan will be joined in conversation with Session Chair Hanaa Fawzy, PhD, MBA, assistant dean of global Initiatives, Gabelli School of Business.

This International Business Week session will feature Yuta Hirose, PhD, associate professor, Aoyama Business School, Tokyo; industrial associate, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom; and advisor, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
Professor Hirose will be joined in conversation with Session Chair Francis Petit, EdD, associate dean of global initiatives and partnerships and program director of the Fordham Gabelli School Executive MBA Program.

This International Business Week session will be a site visit and tour of the Goldman Sachs Global Headquarters, which will be led by Austin Provancher (EMBA’19), executive director and leader of the management & strategy for the Americas Equities Derivatives Business in the Global Banking and Markets Division. Provancher also is a United States Army veteran.
The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., is the world’s preeminent global investment bank and financial services firm founded in 1869, and headquartered in New York City. It provides services in investment banking, securities, asset management, and consumer banking to corporations, governments, and to individuals. Known for its influential role in global finance, Goldman Sachs is a major player in mergers, acquisitions, and trading.

This International Business Week session will feature Ali El Mahdy (EMBA’16 and Gabelli School Advisory council member), CEO, Kortech, Cairo; and professor Carla Pennano Villanueva, PhD, Marketing and International Business, Universidad del Pacifico, the Jesuit University of Lima, Peru.

From Waste to Wealth: How the Circular Economy Models are Transforming Global Business

This session will feature Professor Aradhana Basu, PhD, assistant professor I of sustainability, XIM University, the Jesuit University of Bhubaneswar, India.
Professor Basu will be joined in conversation with Al Iannuzzi, PhD, retired vice president for sustainability & global corporate citizenship at The Estée Lauder Companies, Inc. and current adjunct professor at the Gabelli School of Business.

U.N. Headquarters Group Visit and Guided Tour
Friday, April 17 • 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. EDT
This International Business Week session will feature an immersion and guided tour of the United Nations headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, which has been the official headquarters of this international governing body since 1951. The complex consists of the Secretariat, the Conference Building, and the General Assembly.
The visit will be led by Hanaa Fawzy, PhD, assistant dean, global initiatives, Gabelli School of Business.
