This 2022-2023 academic year is upon us with a plethora of events in which members of the Gabelli School of Business can participate. One of the highlights of the upcoming Fall semester will be the Executive MBA (EMBA) Alumni Speakers Series. Moderated by Francis Petit, EdD, associate dean for Global Initiatives and Partnerships, the virtual series will feature interviews with highly successful EMBA alumni whose accomplishments speak to the quality of the program and the caliber of the students it attracts. Hear from professionals across industries who have utilized this versatile degree and the unsurpassed knowledge and networking opportunities it provides to build the business and management acumen that has led them to the top!

Alison Whritenour (Gabelli EMBA – 2011)
Chief Executive Officer
Seventh Generation

In 2012, armed with her Gabelli School of Business EMBA, Alison Whritenour traded in her brand manager job at industry giant Colgate-Palmolive in NYC and moved to Vermont to work for Seventh Generation. The company, which makes essentials from toilet paper to laundry detergent, was acquired by Unilever in 2016 for approximately $700 million, but kept its name. At the time it had some $250 million in annual sales, but its revenue has averaged double-digit growth rates for the past 15 years, positioning it as the largest green cleaning brand in the US. Will Whitesell has served in executive roles at some of the largest construction companies in the world, including Turner Construction Company and Related Companies, where he oversaw the design and construction of the 1.2M square foot, $800 MM + Luxury Retail Shopping Project (The Shops at Hudson Yards), as part of the $20B Dollar Hudson Yards Development. Today he is the chief operating officer for Suffolk Construction, overseeing strategy, operations, business support, governance, advocacy, and brand expansion in the NY area and executing and meeting the fiscal year P&L business plan responsibilities with annual revenue of more than $400 MM of work in place. Alice Wong has spent the vast majority of her career in non-profit organizational management—from a seven-year stint as associate director at Fordham University Law School to serving as executive director of HKANY to her current role as executive director of the NYC Managerial Employees Association, a professional membership association dedicated to protecting and enhancing the civil service and other rights of public employees who are not eligible for collective bargaining under state and/or local law. Dean Caruso started his career in hotel management at Omni Hotels and the Ritz- Carlton Hotel Company, but later switched his professional path to the health care sector, holding top-level management positions in hospitality and support services at Weill Cornell Medical Center in NYC and in Westchester, and the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and The Allen Hospital. Today, he is vice president support services & sustainability at Yale New Haven Hospital, the primary teaching site for the Yale School of Medicine and the Yale School of Nursing. He epitomizes the type of success Gabelli EMBA graduates achieve and the flexibility the program provides in enabling them to do so.
