(U/G) Veteran Cultural Competence Training

December 12, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Event Navigation

The VA, Fordham University, and the Syracuse University Institute of Veterans & Families are enabling a day of veteran multicultural competence training made up of interactive events, military simulations, and a powerful theater production about the invisible wounds of war—to prepare you to work more effectively with our veteran population. From among all applications, we will choose attendees so that there is a diverse population representing many different fields, such as business leaders, HR professionals, college faculty and staff, network providers, and mental and mental health providers with varying levels of experience working with veterans. Apply now.

Included in the training (but also open to the public upon registration), there will be a theater performance called Theater of War, which will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The performance is a tragic story about the suicide of a great warrior and the invisible wounds caused by violence and war. All training participants will attend, and Dr. Erik Langhoff, JJP Bronx medical director, will provide the keynote address.
