The Trending in Finance Conference is the flagship event organized by the Fordham Finance Society. Now in its third year, the conference brings together professionals in a panel setting to discuss topics that are shaping the investment world. Past topics include “Shareholder Activism: Rarely Understood, Yet Hotly Contested” and “Finding Value in a Time of Volatility.”
The conference will be moderated by Paul Johnson, an adjunct professor and managing director at Nicusa Investment Advisors. This year’s theme is “The Search For Yield: A Focus on Alternative Investments.” As this is a broad category, we have invited a diverse group of Gabelli alumni and industry professionals with investment expertise in fields such as distressed credit, commercial real estate, smart-beta ETF portfolios, private credit and asset-backed securities, and long-only hedge fund strategies. In addition to speakers who can speak to investing at the asset level, the conference will also feature panelists who can discuss how these strategies fit into an individual or corporation’s investment objectives and portfolios.
Drinks will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. as well as during the intermission and after the event.
