About the Authors
Matt Sekerke is a tech-savvy economist with more than 20 years’ experience working in finance, giving him a front-row seat to observe the challenges facing the banking sector before, during and after the Global Financial Crisis. He currently works as the Managing Director at SEDA Experts, an elite consulting firm prized for its expertise in financial services, as well as a Senior Macro Advisor at Hiddenite Capital Partners. After receiving his masters in applied math from Columbia University and his PhD in economics at Durham University, where he is currently a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Finance, he published his first book, Bayesian Risk Management (Wiley Finance, 2015). With his plethora of roles and experiences in the financial services industry, he is able offer a unique combination of academic insight and hands-on professional experience in his writing.
Steve Hanke is a professor of applied economics and founder and co-director of the Institute for Applied Economics, Global Health, and the Study of Business Enterprise at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. His influence in the economics field cannot be understated, as he has been awarded nine honorary doctorate degrees and is an honorary professor at four foreign institutions. He has also served as a member of President Reagan’s Council of Economic Advisers, a senior adviser to the Joint Economic Committee of the US Congress, an adviser to five foreign heads of state and five foreign cabinet ministers, and a state counselor in both Lithuania and Montenegro. He has been an avid contributor to literature about the financial services industry since 1987.
