More About the Program
Our expert panelists will describe the distinct accounting and reporting standards applied to governments and businesses. The panel will then discuss the question: To what extent do we treat these sectors differently, and are we justified in doing so? Particular attention will be paid to the structure and independence of the Inspectors General, who are tasked with ensuring integrity, efficiency, and accountability in regulated markets; comparative accounting standards in the US and Europe (IFRS and GAAP); auditor independence; and administrative law.
