Recent Graduates and Alumni

Congratulations on joining the ranks of the Gabelli School of Business alumni! It has been a great honor to serve as your academic advisor and witness your academic progress. As you are getting comfortable with your new title – Fordham alum, you may have many unanswered questions, so let me share these FAQs with you:

Q: When is the official degree awarding date?

A: Although we have only one commencement ceremony in May, students may graduate three times a year: mid-May (2021 date TBD), August 31, and February 1. You are welcome to list this date on your resume and LinkedIn profile.

Q: How do I access my unofficial transcript?

A: You can request your official transcript at your my.fordham.edu‘s Student Tab under My Information:

Q: How do I request my official transcript?

A: Official transcript requests can be made at the “Official eTranscript Request and Enrollment Verification” channel which you can access from your my.fordham’s Student Tab. More detailed information about requesting official transcripts is available from Academic Records.

Q: What do I do if a future employer requests enrollment/degree verification?

A: The National Student Clearinghouse is Fordham University’s authorized agent for providing all degree and enrollment verifications. All employers and background screening firms requesting this information, must visit nscverifications.org. Please check Banner first to verify your degree has been awarded.

Current students may access this service through the enrollment/degree verification channel on the student tab of my.fordham.edu. For more information, please visit this Academic Records webpage.

Q: When may I receive an electronic diploma?

A: Once CeDiplomas are available for your graduation date, you will receive an email from Academic Records with a unique code to access; you may learn more about CeDiplomas on this page.

Q: When and where will I receive my diploma?

A: Physical diplomas will be distributed later this fall to your address indicated in Banner or your graduation application. Before you receive your physical diploma, you may utilize degree verification and official electronic transcripts to provide documentation to employers or other institutions as proof of graduation.

Q: My address has changed since I applied for graduation and does not match what shows in Banner, how can I change it?

A: Please email your request to acadrecords@fordham.edu. Do note, that if your address changes following the mailing of your diploma, it will still go to your previous address indicated. Please be sure to set up mail forwarding from your previous place of residence appropriately if it is too late to change your address.

Q: How can I apply for an alumni card?

A: Alumni cards called Ram Passes are issued by Fordham’s Alumni Office. You can apply for a Ram Pass here. Please note that the Alumni Office cannot fulfil these requests until they return to campus, as they can only print them in the office, so it will take longer to process.

Q: What privileges do I receive with the Ram Pass?

A: Please see this link for alumni privileges and this link for alumni benefit information.

Q: May I audit classes as a Gabelli School alumni?

A: Our Life-Long Learning Program provides the opportunity for Gabelli School alumni to continue their professional growth and development by auditing Gabelli School classes for a small contribution of $300 per class. Provided that class is not at capacity, you will be approved to audit and engage in the selected classes, without earning credits or grades.

Following completion of this form, the Office of Graduate Advising will be in touch with you to confirm approval for auditing the course(s) you have requested, and share the payment link.

Q: How long will I have my Fordham email?

A: Your Fordham email is given to you for life-time. You are welcome to keep using it.

Q: How long will I have my access to my.fordham?

A: Your my.fordham access is also given to you for life-time, and soon you will be able to access Alumni Tab.

Q: Can I continue to purchase student health insurance beyond my graduation?

A: University offers a 90 day continuation plan for students who graduated in May and their insurance ends in August. The coverage is from 8/23/20-11/22/20. Students can enroll in this plan online starting the second week of July. For more information, please email studentinsurance@fordham.edu.
