End-of-year events in New York City

Undergraduate | Dec 12, 2018 |

If you’re staying in NYC during winter break—or just looking for something to do on your last few days here—why not enjoy some timeless winter traditions in the Big Apple? Here’s a list of activities to check out:

Ice Skating in Central Park
Enjoy a fun winter tradition, right down the street from the Lincoln Center campus! Stroll over to the Conservancy when you’re done to check out the lights and sip hot cocoa. $12 Monday – Thursday and $19 Friday – Sunday.

Seasonal Exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is always awe-inspiring, but it’s especially beautiful during the holidays. Stop by for photos with the 20-foot Christmas tree, or discover works of art by Delacroix on display for the first time in the United States. For New York state students, admission is pay-what-you-wish.

The New York Botanical Garden’s Holiday Train Show
Visit lower Manhattan (in miniature) at the 27th annual Holiday Train Show. Displays include the Woolworth Building, One World Trade Center, and the Terminal Warehouse. The show runs through January 21 and tickets are $28 with a valid student ID.

Shopping at the Columbus Circle Holiday Market
Just a short walk from the Lincoln Center campus, the Columbus Circle Holiday Market is a great chance to support local artisans and craftspeople while taking in the beauty of the city.

Sledding in the City
Once the snow falls, head to a local park to try out one of New York City’s sledding hills—or visit a few of them over the span of the winter season.
