The University Network (TUN) saves college students money through its web site, TUN.com, and its mobile app for iPhone and Android, now called Deal Finder but soon to be re-branded as TUNdeals. TUN provides local businesses with a unique and progressive way to advertise to college students. TUN.com is a series of hyper-local web sites connecting students to deals and discounts around campus. With a growing presence at universities across the United States, TUN is expanding its team. Interns will gain valuable real-world experience and exposure to working in a small, entrepreneurial company.

 

Sales Internship

Responsibilities:

  • Fielding incoming phone calls from local businesses that may be interested in advertising with TUN
  • Explaining what TUN can offer them and closing sales
  • Establishing strong relationships with clients and maintaining top-level customer service
  • Displaying exceptional organizational skills while tracking progress within the provided CRM
  • Meeting and exceeding monthly sales expectations

TUN will provide all the necessary tools and training to make this job as easy as possible. Interns will receive guidance and support from senior staff.

Requirements:

  • Outgoing and energetic personality
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in midtown Manhattan 15+ hours per week
  • Some sales/phone experience is a plus

 

Marketing/PR Internship

Interns will call local businesses near college campuses and get them to join TUN for free. Interns will offer the ability to help promote businesses to college students in their area through TUN’s web site and mobile apps. Interns will record any deals and specials the businesses offer and add them to a database.

Interns also will help to spread the word about TUN to college students across the country. This will be done in a variety of ways, including social media and direct outreach to student publications, with the main goal of driving student traffic to TUN.com and increasing the download rate of newly released mobile apps.
