Langone, who will deliver a President’s Council Lecture, will speak at 6:30 p.m. in Keating Hall. Langone’s address will be conducted interview-style, with Donna Rapaccioli, the dean of Fordham’s schools of business, asking the questions. Gabelli School of Business senior Lou Murphy will assist during the event. There will also be an opportunity for audience members to ask questions.
Langone has been a fixture in business circles, serving previously as a director of the New York Stock Exchange and working with Texas entrepreneur Ross Perot and his company, Electronic Data Systems.
He founded Invemed Associates, an investment bank designed to finance medical business startups, in 1974. He then turned his interests toward home improvement, cofounding Home Depot with two others in 1978.
A philanthropist, Langone has donated to numerous charities.
