July 17: Trust in banking and finance breakfast

Two Fordham professors will join forces next Wednesday for a breakfast discussion on trustworthiness in banking. How can a financial institution become the most trusted? Robert Hurley and Hooman Estelami of the Fordham Schools of Business will explore that question.

Fordham alumni and students are invited, as are members of the New York City business community and the general public.

This event is sponsored by Fordham’s Consortium for Trustworthy Organizations, of which Dr. Hurley is the director. He is also a management professor whose research specialty is how to build and repair trust with people, groups, organizations and large-scale systems. His book, The Decision to Trust, received high honors from The Washington Post when it came out last year.

Dr. Estelami is the editor of the International Journal of Bank Marketing and the author of several books, including Marketing Turnarounds: A Guide to Surviving DownturnsRediscovering GrowthFrontiers of Distance Learning in Business and the textbook Marketing Financial Services. He teaches marketing at Fordham and also leads the university’s Pricing Center.
