And now, if students want similarly free access to The New York Times, all you need to do is go online.
New York’s newspaper of record wants you to know about “NYTimes.com academic passes,” which are available seven days a week to help you keep up on the news. They allow free full digital access to the Times, and each pass lasts for 24 hours.
To get your first pass, visit www.nytimes.com/passes, then click “Register” and follow the instructions. (You must register with your Fordham e-mail account for this to work.) You’ll receive an e-mail from NYTimes.com with the subject “Confirm your e-mail address”; click the link in that e-mail to finish the process.
Once you’ve gone through the original registration, you can log in at www.nytimes.com/passes anytime to begin a fresh 24 hours of access. Always remember to use this specific URL — even if you have a login and password for the main www.nytimes.com site, only signing in through the URL ending in /passes will get you the free content.
