Budding student entrepreneurs and those considering diving into the change-maker pool will have a chance to get inspired and get advice during a daylong conference held at Fordham University on Feb. 28.
The Fordham University Entrepreneurship Conference, to be held at Fordham Law School at Lincoln Center, features a strong lineup of speakers and conferences, said Emily Raleigh, GSB ’16, the co-president of the Fordham Entrepreneurship Society.
“We’re really trying to take it to the next level this year,” Raleigh said. “Our speakers are incredible … Their whole goal is to really provide Fordham with a conference on entrepreneurship that speaks to every kind of self-starter.”
The speakers are from all different industries and businesses, such as social media, technology and fashion.
“We’re meeting [in Manhattan] so that we were able to get high-profile speakers,” Raleigh said.
Among the presentations will be:
- Keynote by Nancy Lublin, CEO of DoSomething
- How to Kickstart Your Career: Working at a Startup 101 by Lynxsy
- The World of Tech in NYC
- Keynote by Maya Mikhailov, co-founder of GPS Shopper
- How to Be a Disruptor
- Keynote by Benjamin Joffe-Walt, chief of staff of Change.org
- A student venture expo, where Fordham students will showcase their business ventures
The Entrepreneurship Society is hoping for 300 people to attend the event. Registration has begun, and admission is free. The first 100 who register get a copy of Nancy Lublin’s book, The XYZ Factor.
“Our goal with the conference is for students of all different backgrounds and all different interests to be able to see that they can be a change-maker, they can be a trailblazer,” Raleigh said.
